We developed this website to provide climate information in Japan, especially for foreign tourists visiting Japan. Japan is a country spanning from the northernmost island of Hokkaido to the southernmost island of Okinawa and the climate condition varies a lot depending on where you are in the country. Hopefully, this site will help you choose the right season to visit the cities or regions you want or choose the right places for the season you can travel.

This site explains the climate situation at various places in Japan with some statistical data and visualization. The data and visualization were generated by obtaining the past weather observation data from the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) web site and processing the observation data for 10 years (2009 - 2018). Although the observation data was obtained from the JMA, they are irrelevant to any of the contents in this web site.

All the climate data and information found in this web site are NOT A WEATHER FORECAST, unless otherwise explicitly stated. Please visit the JMA's website if you seek weather forecasts (https://www.jma.go.jp/jma/indexe.html).

Also, the information found in this website should not be used for any purposes requiring trusted information source, including scientific research, education, and making important business decisions. For such purposes, please use the official data from the JMA. In this website, the period to generate the climate information is intentionally set for 10 years, instead of 30 years which is used for official climate information, because the purpose of this web site is to inform the users how the weather looks like during each season in Japan and not to look at the long-term climate change.

This website introduces attractive places to visit together with the climate information. The tourist information was compiled by collecting various information available on the Internet, especially from WikiVoyage as one of the information sources. We carefully created the information and published them, however, should you have any concerns about copyright infringement, please contact us.

Copyright information is displayed on each picture. An exception is when a picture is used in a Card-style component to let a user choose a tourist location or area. As the space is too narrow to display in a Card-style component, the copyright information is found at the introduction page which is opened after the user clicks on the card component.
