“Discover a beautiful treasure worthy of movies”

Hakodate is the 3rd largest city in Hokkaido. It is located at the south edge of Hokkaido and serves as the gateway to mainland Japan. Among other attractions, the popular night view from Mt. Hakodate is so beautiful it is as if you are looking into a treasure box. Goryokaku is a star-shaped castle built at the very end of Edo-era and attracts many tourists. Hakodate was opened as an international port in 1859 and many European architecture are still preserved. As a result, the city is often used as a filming location for movies and animations. Shinkansen, the bullet train, extended its reach to Hakodate recently, so more tourists are expected to visit there.
