Overview of Hiroshima

“Remembering the Past.”

History remembers Hiroshima as the site of the first atomic bombing in 1945. Today, a moving memorial to commemorate this tragic time in history exists in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Other popular attractions include the Hiroshima Castle and Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island best known for its otherworldly torii gate.

Climate in Hiroshima

Annual temperature is roughly between 4°C (40°F) and 28°C (83°F). July expects the highest precipitation (about 280mm). July to September are the hottest months (about 27°C or 81°F), and January, February and December are the coldest months (about 4°C or 40°F).
