"Majestic Nature basked in a special Sunrise and Sunset"
Kushiro area in Hokkaido has the fullness of nature’s majesty including a sanctuary for wild birds and animals, lake Akan famous for Marimo (Moss ball) and the lake Mashu known as the most transparent lake in Japan. The Kushiro wetland is the largest wetland in Japan and was registered under the Ramsar convention in 1980. Development in the wetland is strictly prohibited and thanks to the volunteers responsible for maintaining this area, the exquisite landscape is well maintained. Kushiro was selected as one of the best 3 sunset view spots together with Bali island and Manila back in 1965.
Just a 2-hour drive to the east, you can reach Nemuro City and Cape Noppu, which is Japan's east-end where private citizens can go, and where you can see a magnificent sunrise earlier than anyone else in Japan.
