“Bathed in the Majestic Beauty of Matsushima Bay.”
Miyagi presents an opportunity to unwind with its multiple hot springs (onsen), scenic autumn view and the Matsushima Bay. Matsushima Bay is the home of several pine-dotted tiny islands and is one of Japan's Three Great Sights (Nihon Sankei). The majestic beauty of Matsushima left such an impression that it was remembered in one of the most popular poems of Japanese poet, Matsuo Basho.
