“So why not get up and dance?”
Featuring a bounty of rivers and forests, Tokushima is home to the popular Awa Odori Festival, it’s celebrated as part of the Obon festival (a festival celebrating ancestors). It’s a dance festival that attracts millions of visitors both foreign and local. Roughly translated, the main refrain of the festival goes like: "The dancing fool and the watching fool are both foolish. So why not get up and dance?" Other attractions include Mt. Bizan, the Naruto Whirlpools and the hot springs (onsen) in Kamiyama, a city in the prefecture.
